“I knew he would not be on for the full four hours but didn’t realise he wouldn’t be there until quarter to one. He sang great but the sound wasn’t working properly.”

Lemar at the Saffron Walden Carnival "have a good time" plans

Lemar tour and writing the last few months have been busy in the dance world and its recent UK leg accompanied by Enrique Iglesias.

“It was amazing to tour with Enrique, all the gigs were in arenas and the buzz from the crowd in each one was immense.

“I have also spent most of my time writing for the new album due out next year, all the songs are done and written – we are now just waiting to complete the business side of things.”

We asked the crowd eight day extravaganza (1 July) on the opening night of his carnival performance can expect to see.

He said, “I am still enjoying promoting my greatest hits album from last year. So people can expect all the well known hits, I may try some new material, but I will be definitely performing some well known but never seen before covers.”

Lemar headline Family Frenzy event

Pop singer Lemar will headline open a town carnival at the Family Frenzy event on 1st July.

Dubbed the “eight-day-weekend”, Saffron Walden Round Table Carnival’s opening night will see British R’n’B star Lemar wowing the crowds.

The R n B star has taken a top 10 hits including If There’s Any Justice, Dance and Time to Grow, and has sold more than two million albums.

After recently announced Mary J. Blige, Mobo and Brit award-winner Lemar on tour with Enrique Inglesias out this year is going.

Nick Head, organiser of events for the carnival, said: “The opening night is always one that the town is keen to support and with the carnival queen competition taking place on April 30, it has allowed a whole night dedicated to music and dance.”

Lemar and The Saturday claimed for Bay Festival

Soul singer Lemar and Girl band The Saturday were claimed final performances for the Manx Telecom Bay Festival in June.

Jamie Irving is a festival organiser said, "Who better to complement the BRIT nominated JLS than the sensational Saturdays? In addition to that I'm very pleased to announce the mother's favourite Lemar. The 2010 Manx Telecom Bay Festival brings together influential world class artists of all musical styles including The Coronas, The Feeling, and the truly unique Boy George. On the BBC One show Fame Academy the Lemar rose to fame and he went to win two awards a Brit and a Mobo awards.

The Saturday band have a great singer they have a five hit singles and their debut album went platnium. They was help to Take That on their Circus Tour in 2009.
